Jean Paul Gaultier macaron

TEA ROOM @ National Gallery of Victoria

180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, Level 1 NGV

I visited on the 22nd November for the Jean Paul Gaultier which will be running until the 8th Febuary 2015. A BIG thank you to Ross for supplying the tickets.

Ugly water mark is due to some foolish person NOT asking permission to use my pics on their website. That resulted in a poor quality resolution photo. You can get a high quality one by asking nicely!!!Every now and then my sanity goes out the window and I splurge on the ridiculous food things. In this case it was for $5.50 for a single macaron. Not just any macaron, it was the “Royal” blue macaron done in the spirit of all things Gaultier.  This consisted of a cobalt blue macaron with a custard and raspberries place in a crown formation for its filling. It was well over the top and I felt a little decadent and oh so lah-di-dah. My coffee was a Long Black $3.70 and help cut through the sweetness. Yes, those dang raspberries were super sweet!

It’s like they went above and beyond to present this and I’ve inspired to create an awesome skirt.  Ahh….if only we could we that sort of couture for every day life. Anyhoo….it’s wonderful and one of my favourite section was watching snippets of the movies that he designed clothes for…yay The 5th Element! 🙂
