I wish they had a Marks and Sparks here in Australia. This place is so much better than DJ food hall because the quality is better and cheaper! We had our dinner in the pretty and modern looking food hall where the menu items can be bought in the store. It’s great to know that if you’re happy with your meals that you can pick it up off the shelves later. The restaurant is on the top floor where you can dine out on the balcony/rooftop. Too bad it was dark and rainy or else it would of been beautiful to sit outside and watch the world go by down below.
€12.50 ($AU15.37) dinner deal: main meal, dessert and complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.
Premium Peppermint leaf tea €2.70 ($AU3.32) started us off by warming our bellies after a cold day of shopping in Dublin.
Beef bourguignon €11.00 ($AU13.52) – Delicious, rich, thick and flavoursome stew. It’s marinated beef that’s slow cooked in red wine, button mushrooms, roasted baby onions and bacon lardons with a dollop of creamy mashed potatoes. The beef chunks were of decent size and quantity. It came in a cute retro ramekin with a lid.
Sticky Toffee pudding €4.15 ($AU5.10) Yup….naughty again for having the evils sweets but it was well worth it. Glistening dried fruits perched on top of a luscious dense pudding and dribbling with hot caramel sauce with a melting scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
Tarte aux Pommes €4.15 ($AU5.10) – This very sweet thin layer of apple filling with a crunchy base with a honey flavoured ice creams dusted with nutmeg and cinnamon.
15-20 Grafton Street Dublin
*Oh I so did not care if the food was gluten or sugar free. I was cold, inappropriately dressed and grumpy so I thought I deserved a well earned break after vinyl record shopping (*rolls eyes) with Olleh. I still love Ireland despite the rain.
